Faith in our Book
In Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy there is one scene that really stands out with having to do with faith. Ford Prefect is in the bar with Arthur Dent and they have just sat down to get a drink. Ford goes to get a drink and tells the bartender that the world will end very soon. Naturally the Bartender does not believe anything Ford had just said. This is were faith comes into play. On one hand you have Ford Prefect who has been on Earth for 14 years and says that the world is coming to an end in a matter of minutes. Ford has faith that this will happen , he has no real proof or evidence, even though he is not from this planet. Then you have the Bartender who just laughs at Fords comment about the end of the world, but he does not have the proof or the evidence that this will not happen. They both have the faith that this disaster will or will not happen, but with no proof of evidence, all they can do if have their faith.

I agree with this blog. if you have no proof you have faith there is no science behind that. Ford has faith the world will end this is different than saying Ford has a theory that the world willcend this means that Ford has scientific proof behind his idea that the world is going to end. since he doesnt its just plain ole faith
